Overview

India’s Golden Triangle at a Comfortable Pace

Discover Delhi, Agra and Jaipur on a private journey designed especially for first-time visitors to India. This classic route brings together the country’s Mughal monuments, colourful markets, royal palaces, living traditions and the unforgettable Taj Mahal.

Unlike shorter Golden Triangle tours, this seven-day itinerary allows you to explore without beginning sightseeing immediately after an international flight. Two nights in Delhi provide time to experience both Old and New Delhi, while an overnight stay in Agra makes it possible to visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise. Two nights in Jaipur offer a balanced introduction to Rajasthan’s forts, palaces, artisans and bazaars.

Travel in a private air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced driver and professional local guides. Choose carefully selected 4-star, heritage or 5-star hotels, and personalize the itinerary with food experiences, artisan visits, photography stops or additional leisure time.

Itinerary
Day 1

Arrive in Delhi

New Delhi
+

Welcome to India. On arrival at Delhi International Airport, complete the immigration and baggage formalities before meeting a MoreIndia Travels representative.

Transfer by private vehicle to your hotel and take time to rest after your international journey. No fixed sightseeing is planned today, allowing the program to remain comfortable regardless of your arrival time.

If you arrive earlier in the day and feel rested, we can arrange a gentle introductory activity or short orientation drive.

Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2

Discover Old and New Delhi

New Delhi
+

After breakfast, meet your private guide and begin exploring India’s capital.

In Old Delhi, visit Jama Masjid and continue through the lively lanes of Chandni Chowk by cycle rickshaw. Experience the colours, sounds and everyday life of one of Delhi’s oldest commercial districts. Continue to Raj Ghat, the peaceful memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi.

In New Delhi, visit Humayun’s Tomb, an outstanding example of early Mughal architecture and an architectural predecessor of the Taj Mahal. Continue to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, where you can learn about the Sikh faith and its tradition of community service.

Drive past India Gate, Parliament House and the principal government buildings before returning to your hotel.

Overnight in Delhi.

Day 3

Delhi to Agra

Agra
+

After breakfast, visit Qutub Minar, part of a UNESCO-listed complex representing some of Delhi’s earliest Indo-Islamic architecture.

Continue to Agra by private vehicle using the Yamuna Expressway. The journey normally takes approximately four hours, depending on traffic.

After checking in, visit Agra Fort with your private guide. This impressive red-sandstone fortress was once the principal residence of the Mughal emperors and offers a fascinating introduction to the dynasty that created the Taj Mahal.

If time and weather permit, finish the day at Mehtab Bagh or another suitable viewpoint overlooking the Taj Mahal at sunset.

Overnight in Agra.

Day 4

Taj Mahal at Sunrise and Drive to Jaipur

Jaipur
+

Rise early to visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise, when the softer light and quieter atmosphere create a particularly memorable experience. Your guide will explain the history, architectural details and enduring story behind the monument.

Return to the hotel for breakfast and some time to freshen up. Later, depart for Jaipur, stopping at Fatehpur Sikri, the beautifully preserved former Mughal capital built by Emperor Akbar.

Continue through the countryside of Rajasthan and arrive in Jaipur in the evening. Check in and relax at your hotel.

Important: The Taj Mahal is closed every Friday. The sequence of visits will be adjusted when necessary.

Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 5

Jaipur’s Forts, Palaces and Bazaars

Jaipur
+

After breakfast, begin with a photographic stop at Hawa Mahal, Jaipur’s celebrated Palace of Winds.

Continue to Amber Fort, set dramatically above the surrounding hills. Ascend by jeep or private vehicle—elephant rides are not included. Explore the palace courtyards, halls, gardens and mirror-decorated chambers with your guide.

In the afternoon, visit the City Palace and Jantar Mantar, the UNESCO-listed astronomical observatory. There will also be time to discover Jaipur’s traditional bazaars and, if interested, meet local artisans working with textiles, block printing, jewellery or other regional crafts.

Return to your hotel with the evening at leisure.

Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 6

Jaipur to Delhi

Delhi
+

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and some free time before leaving Jaipur. Depending on your interests, the morning can include an optional artisan workshop, cooking experience, market visit or additional time at the hotel.

Drive back to Delhi by private vehicle. The journey normally takes approximately five to six hours, depending on traffic.

On arrival, check in at your hotel. Staying in Delhi tonight avoids the risk and discomfort of travelling directly from Jaipur to an international departure.

Overnight in Delhi.

Day 7

Departure from Delhi

Departure
