Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Delhi, India

Upon arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your luxury hotel.

Relax after your international flight or enjoy an optional evening excursion.

Overnight: Delhi


Day 2 – Fly to Paro, Bhutan – Transfer to Thimphu

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your scenic flight to Paro, one of the world's most spectacular mountain landings.

Upon arrival, meet your Bhutanese guide and drive to Thimphu, Bhutan's charming capital.

Visit:

  • Memorial Chorten
  • Buddha Dordenma
  • Tashichho Dzong (time permitting)

Enjoy a relaxed evening.

Day 3 – Discover Thimphu

Today you'll explore Bhutan's cultural capital.

Visit:

  • Motithang Takin Preserve

Enjoy lunch at a premium Bhutanese restaurant.

Overnight: Thimphu


Day 4 – Scenic Drive to Punakha

Travel over the spectacular Dochula Pass (3,100m).

On clear days you'll enjoy panoramic Himalayan views.

Continue to Punakha.

  • Riverside walks

Check into your luxury riverside lodge.

Day 5 – Punakha Valley Experience

Enjoy a leisurely day.

Day 6 – Gangtey Valley

Day 7 – Return to Paro

Scenic drive back to Paro.

Day 8 – Tiger's Nest Monastery

Today you'll experience Bhutan's most iconic attraction.

The hike to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest Monastery) is one of the world's great travel experiences.

The walk is taken at a comfortable pace with plenty of time for rest and photography.

Alternative arrangements can be made for guests who prefer not to complete the full hike.

Celebrate your achievement with a special farewell dinner.

Day 9 – Leisure Day in Paro

A flexible day allowing you to:

Take short nature walks

Visit Kyichu Lhakhang

Day 10 – Fly to Delhi

Transfer to Paro Airport for your return flight to Delhi.

Depending on your onward flight schedule, we can arrange a hotel or sightseeing in Delhi before your international departure.

Before You Travel – Bhutan Visa & Entry Formalities

One of the unique aspects of visiting Bhutan is its regulated tourism policy, which helps preserve the country's culture and environment.

Tourist Visa

All international visitors (except citizens of India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives) require a Bhutan Tourist Visa.

Passport Requirements

  • Valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates.
  • Minimum of two blank visa pages.

Sustainable Development Fee (SDF)

Bhutan charges a Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) for most international visitors. The applicable fee depends on the regulations in force at the time of travel and is payable as part of the visa and tour arrangement.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and can be arranged upon request.

Flights

Direct flights operate between Delhi and Paro (subject to airline schedules and seasonal availability).

Is the Tiger's Nest hike difficult?

The hike is moderate and can be completed at a comfortable pace. Horses are available for part of the ascent, and alternative sightseeing can be arranged for guests who prefer not to hike.
